Cumulatively I have worked in graphic and web design, animation, sales, marketing, and customer service in both hired and freelance positions. Through my experience,
I’ve learned how to convey messages in numerous
industries: public relations, higher education, engineering, nutrition, food, retail, etc. My passion is to use design
to inspire voice, brand, and create awareness.

I’ve worked with non-profits such as Singing Hands Co.,
which involved helping a dying culture thrive in their own community while promoting and selling their handmade goods to a fair trade audience. I have also worked with the non-profit Christian Alliance for Orphans- which focused on connecting churches and orphanages internationally, promoting Orphan Sunday, and encouraging people to help their local foster care systems and orphanages. Both of these opportunities have allowed me to understand realize my enthusiasm for humanitarian work and to help businesses that have ethical/sustainable approaches. Recently I worked full time as Associate Brand Manager for ClearFast where I oversaw our Brand/Marketing Team while creating all graphic design, web design, and marketing/sales collateral.

Currently, I've decided to hone in on the skills I currently have to pursue design paths related to branding whether it be helping businesses discover their brand and identity or branding events through brand strategy,
graphic, and web design.

MY JOURNEY

it all started with

adobe photoshop

When I was ten years old, my dad who worked at a local university came home with the Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 and Premiere Element 3.0 bundle from 2005.  Knowing that I was currently teaching myself to code web pages while playing an online game called Neopets, he thought this would be a step up from using MS Paint. From that point on, I knew I was in love (check out my old school designs in the slideshow to the right).

When entering high school I knew I had to join the Regional Occupational Program so that I could join the graphic design course my senior year. After receiving my acceptance letter from the University of the Pacific for the graphic design program I felt fortunate to be one of the few people going into college knowing what their passion was.

After graduating with Cum Laude and being on the dean's list (I give credit to my amazing professors and loving my major), I began to work at a local public relations company as a graphic and web designer. This is when I started to understand how to market companies, maintain client relationships, create and maintain branding for retail, restaurants, and events. I decided it was time to leave my hometown after getting my degree and working with local businesses, and found myself in a full-time Office Administrator role at an Engineering firm.  Although they currently didn't have an in-house designer position, I would work as Office Administrator until they worked through HR and Marketing to create one.

Living in a coastal city like Encinitas, Ca had been eye-opening to a small town dreamer in central California. I picked up a very active lifestyle surfing, biking, yoga, creating healthier dietary habits, and working on passion art projects locally.

After switching into a part-time position on the team, a clinical nutrition start-up was transitioning into an established brand and found my portfolio online. They offered a part-time position as a graphic and web designer, where after a few months of building a relationship I was then promoted to full-time Brand Manager with my additional design responsibilities.

Working with ClearFast led to amazing opportunities such as re-branding, product design, re-design of an elaborate e-commerce site, expanding my knowledge on B2B relationships and collateral, representing the marketing team during medical conferences, leading my own team, and much, much more. I was beyond grateful for all of the opportunities I was presented while at this company.

This year I’ve switched over into freelancing which has let to working with a variety of businesses varying from local bakeries to tech start-ups. Collaborating with clients to create a strong marketing strategy for the direction of their branding has been the most enjoyable part of working with local businesses, and I'm excited to continue growing my relationships with clients.

My first designs! Don't judge me, I was 10. ;)
